Lighthouse Baptist Church has been ministering to an often forgotten segment of society: our deaf and hard-of-hearing friends.
One of Jesus’ special miracles was the healing of a man who could neither hear nor speak. We do not have the power of God like Jesus did to correct people’s physical deficiencies and limitations. However, we do have the empowerment of the Holy Spirit to minister especially to the spiritual needs of the deaf and hard-of-hearing. Our goal is to continually fulfill
Isaiah 29:18a: “And in that day shall the deaf hear the words of the book...”
We want the deaf to meet Jesus, who can meet their every need.
Our hearing-impaired workers interpret during the Sunday 11 am worship services and at special programs, not just the ones planned exclusively for our deaf.
Periodically, American Sign Language classes are offered for members so that they can fellowship with our hearing-impaired brethren.
