Pastor Selva also started Lifegate Independent Baptist Church in Johore, Malaysia in 1991. He is married to Mary, a former nurse (SRN Singapore, SCM Scotland) and they have one son, Gideon Raj.  Both Pastor Selva and Mary are Singaporeans.

Pastor Selva has been in the full time ministry for the Lord since 1977. Born in a Hindu family, he accepted Christ as His Savior when he was invited to church by a friend and heard the Gospel preached.  His life verse is Philippians 1:21 "For to me to live is Christ and to die is gain."

Pastor Selva served in a number of Independent Baptist Churches prior to having his formal education in Hawaii. He was also engaged in many ministries which included Family and Youth Counselling, Bus ministry, Prison ministry, Sunday School ministry, Soul-winning and Discipleship ministry among others. He is also Singapore MCYS (Ministry of Community and Youth and Sports) Marriage Solemniser and Counsellor. Together with him are 4 church staff, 3 deacons and many other members in different ministries serving the Head of the Church - our Lord Jesus Christ. Together with Gideon, Pastor Selva and Mary have visited more than 10 countries for missions trips and work.

His wife Mary came from a Buddhist background and was saved through the witnessing of the Gospel from a friend and then invited to a Baptist Church.  Quitting her job as a staff-nurse she gave her life to the service of the Lord. She took classes in Biblical studies, served in the bus ministry,  Awana children's ministry, Sunday School ministry for children and ladies, soul-winning and discipleship ministry, church administration among others. Mary has devotedly been serving the LORD with her husband Pastor Selva for the last 22 years. Her life verse is Galatians 2:20 "I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God , who loved me, and gave Himself for me."
