Lighthouse Baptist Church (Independent Baptist) Singapore, was started on 19th February 1989, by R.V. Selvanayagam (B.A. Christian Ministries, Hawaii, USA). He was ordained and sent out by Lanakila Baptist Church, Hawaii.

Pastor Selva also started Lifegate Independent Baptist Church in Johore, Malaysia in 1991. He is married to Mary, a former nurse (SRN, SCM Scotland) and they have one son, Gideon Raj.

Pastor Selva has been in the full time ministry for the Lord since 1977. Together with him are 2 full time staff, 3 deacons and many other members in different ministries serving the Head of the church - our Lord Jesus Christ.
